As part of the 2013 Belfast Film Festival, a screening of Kubrick's 2001 in the Thomspon Dry Dock. This was the first time I had descended into the dock and I was amazed at how little of its capacity was required for a cinema screen and 500 seats.
the one mistake we did make about seating was to pick a row in line with a speaker array. It was loud, particularly when local band Documenta were playing an introductory set.
The film was, of course, epic though the deep-space scenes were spoled a little by creases in the screen and the glow of Belfast projecting through.
Dave, stop Dave.
Everything wrapped-up around midnight and we shuffled out, rather slowly as we all absorbed the awesomeness of our surroundings.
