Pre-1964 signage

This street nameplate is the only one in Newtownards of which I am aware which exemplifies the pre-1964 use of Llewellyn-Smith face. It seems to have escaped destruction because it's on the 'wrong' side of a wall, standing on private property instead of the public footpath.

It is shadowed on the opposite side of the road by its stark modern counterpart using Mr Kindersley's Ministry Serif face in the inverse fashion, black-on-white.
