The contractors did a very comprehensive job of clearing the site of the Scrabo High School in Newtownards, but tucked away in the north-west corner is one remnant.
There were three entrances to the school and these gates opened into a pedestrian lane leading to the Scrabo Road, just south of the junction with the Old Belfast Road. The lane abides, unmarked and overgrown.
There are two more of the red-painted lamps still standing down near the roundabout with the Messines Road.
Otherwise there are only a few pieces of concrete and broken brick remaining, though on having a rummage I did find a piece of sandstone from the railway bridge that preceded the school!
Planning permission has now been granted for eleventy-bazillion identi-kit houses on the site.
